TEAM OMNIA  LEAVES MONZA WITH STRONG PACE DESPITE MISSED OPPORTUNITIES

The fifth and sixth rounds of the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Italia delivered mixed emotions for Team Omnia at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. While the final results did not fully reflect the team’s potential, both Cristian Bertuca and Ermanno Quintieri showed the pace and determination required to fight consistently inside the top ten.

The Temple of Speed welcomed a large crowd throughout the weekend, with strong support for local driver Cristian Bertuca and fellow Omnia Motorsport representative Ermanno Quintieri.

Quintieri’s performance was arguably one of the most remarkable stories of the weekend. Forced to miss the entire free practice programme due to his high school graduation exams, the young driver arrived at Monza with virtually no running time. Despite this disadvantage, he immediately adapted to the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, securing top-15 qualifying positions for both races and putting himself in contention for strong results.

Unfortunately, his efforts were not rewarded. While fighting for positions inside the overall top ten, Quintieri was involved in crashes in both Race 1 and Race 2, bringing an early end to what had been an extremely promising weekend.

For Bertuca, the Monza round once again confirmed the competitiveness shown throughout the season. The 2024 FIA Karting KZ2 World Cup winner maintained the pace of the leading group across all sessions, but traffic during the decisive moments of qualifying prevented him from extracting the full potential of the car. He eventually secured eighth position for Race 1 and fifteenth for Race 2.

In Race 1, Bertuca delivered another solid performance, finishing inside the overall top ten and claiming fifth position among the Rookie drivers, collecting valuable championship points. Race 2, however, ended in frustration when he was involved in an incident during the final restart while comfortably running in contention for another top-ten finish.

Giacomo Scanzi, Co-Founder of Team Omnia

“Monza leaves us with mixed feelings. On one side we are disappointed because the results do not reflect the pace we showed throughout the weekend. On the other, we leave encouraged by what both drivers demonstrated on track. Cristian once again proved he belongs among the front runners of the category, while Ermanno delivered an exceptional performance considering he had to miss all free practice sessions due to his graduation exams.”

Massimiliano Alosa, Co-Owner of Omnia Global and Co-Founder of Team Omnia

“There are weekends where points tell only part of the story. Monza was one of them. As a team we executed a strong weekend and both drivers showed the potential to fight consistently for top-ten finishes. Seeing Ermanno immediately competitive despite such limited preparation was impressive, while Cristian continued to demonstrate the level that has already allowed him to establish himself as one of the strongest rookies on the grid. The results were affected by circumstances beyond our control, but the foundations remain extremely positive as we look ahead to the next round.”

Despite the setbacks, Team Omnia  leaves Monza with valuable championship points, further confirmation of its competitiveness in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia paddock and renewed motivation ahead of the next event at Imola, for the Porsche Sprint Challenge Suisse.
