TEAM OMNIA CONFIRMS TOP10 PACE AT MISANO

Round 2 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia took place last weekend at the spectacular Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where Team Omnia once again confirmed the competitiveness and great progression of its young line-up.

The event on the Adriatic Riviera delivered one of the highlights of the season so far, with Race 1 held under the floodlights in a highly anticipated night race atmosphere, adding even more intensity to the weekend.

After qualifying had represented one of the key weak points during the opening round at Imola, both Cristian Bertuca and Ermanno Quintieri showed significant improvement in the time attack sessions. Bertuca secured P6 for Race 1 and went even quicker with P5 for Race 2, while Quintieri followed closely behind in P7. The second-best lap, used to determine the Race 2 grid, did not favour Quintieri, forcing him to start further down the order despite his outright pace.

The much-awaited night race began positively for both Team Omnia drivers, who immediately proved capable of matching the rhythm of the leading group. Quintieri’s race unfortunately ended prematurely after being taken out by another competitor midway through the race, while Bertuca crossed the line inside the top 10 before a post-race penalty deprived him of a valuable 8th place finish.

Race 2 brought additional uncertainty due to changing weather conditions around the circuit. Following early morning rain, teams remained undecided until the final moments regarding the track conditions, but the race eventually took place on slick tyres in dry conditions. Bertuca delivered his strongest result of the season so far, finishing sixth overall and narrowly missing out on a rookie podium. Quintieri, meanwhile, was forced to manage a damaged car following the Race 1 retirement, but still fought through the difficulties to maintain a place inside the top 20.

Andrea Giustini, Co-Founder of Team Omnia, and Giacomo Scanzi, Team Principal of Prima Ghinzani Motorsport, shared:

“What stands out the most is the speed of adaptation both drivers are showing. Misano confirmed not only their raw pace, but also their ability to manage complex race situations, changing conditions and the pressure that comes with racing at this level. Cristian and Ermanno are gaining the respect of the entire Porsche paddock weekend after weekend. The work ethic inside the team is extremely strong and the progression since Imola has been clear for everyone to see.”

With two consecutive competitive weekends completed, Team Omnia continues to establish itself as one of the most interesting young projects inside the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia paddock, further strengthening the bridge between high-level karting and GT racing.
